Street Children in Sao Paulo, Brazil - Pixote (part 1 of 13)

Back

This is certainly the finest film ever made about street children and a great film by any criteria. Directed by Hector Babenco and starring Fernando Ramos da Silva, this film is the acknowledged inspiration that led Gregory Smith to Sao Paulo to found his innovative and splendidly successful Hummingbird program for street children. And it has inspired many others to work on behalf of street children, including myself.

your politicans in the north are corrupt and steal the money for socal projects.

Then the uneducated poor have more kids and use crimes like kidnapping to stay alive.

Then these same poor people vote the corrupt politican back into office.

Just like in the United States.

Hector Babenco é argentino, ele não é brasileiro.

Hector Babenco is from Argentina, some people think he's brazillian.
