They are allowed in Britain only if the owner has a license, is registed, has them neutered, microchiped, insured and muzzled at all times in public. But it is really difficult to obtain a license and any rule breaking, or if someone complains about the dog, you could be fined or get up to 6 months jail time, and the dog would be destroyed.

i would give anything to have an american pit bull but in Britain they're banned so I'm planning onn moving to America just so I can have one... :)

Pit Bull type dogs HIGHER than most other dogs. Pit Bull AVERAGE 83.9% the normal dog average is 77.3% on the American Temperment Test. Pit bull type dogs are in the bottom 5% of bites or attacks BUT are reported MORE than 95% which makes people BELIEVE they are responsible for more than 95% of attacks when it TRUTH it is less than 5%. THESE are the FACTS. To see how unfairly they are reported go to the "National Canine Research Council" and look up "Is the Media Biased". Stop the LIES & BSL.

I just rescued a 2 year old red nose pitbull from the needle and i have to say hes the sweetest dog.All they want to do is please their owners,thats all..but some owners are morons and should be sent to prison for exploiting this breed.
Anyone agree with me?
