this is the best movie i have ever seen so far, no.1, the moral value is so deep, no matter what kind of job you do, if you do it with heart,you will harvest the fruit, lovely movie, very very very very very very very good

... There will NEVER... EVER... be a film like this one... and Tom Hank's performance was SO GOOD, I never notice (from the 50+ times Ive seen the film) that it's him.. I just se Forrest :)

I just hope this film can be view by all the generations to come... Its educational and historical.. GREAT MUSIC! turn Turn Turn!

hm. a shallow, cynical, point-missing movie critic wannabe. forrest gump is indeed a "lucky retard" on the surface. what did you expect? a hollywood movie to be realistic? it's a movie. but don't you understand that this movie is about the champion of human spirit? the beauty of perseverance? the innocence of happiness? the humor of irony? the passion of love? the denouncing of corrupt society? the rhythm of daily life? all of that- all of these themes, condensed masterfully into movie-length?

i'm american, luckily one with an education. and you know, i am not be surpised that many foreigners, such as yourself would indeed be intelligent enough, and have enough hindsight to see how ridiculous the war in Iraq is. you hit the nail on the head. we have no clue who we are fighting! or actually we do..., that would be every single islamic radical, the vast majority of whom who live among civilians! but you're right. we do movies pretty well. this was a shining star in american film.

Forrest Gump is #71 at the AFI's list of greatest american movies of all time. I think it should be near the top 10. I'm watching all the movies of the list online, here:
