Mission: Impossible Opening Montage 1

Back

Each episode of Mission: Impossible featured a unique opening. Clips from the upcoming show were edited together in the fast-paced style of Lalo Schrifrin's brilliant theme song and played before the opening credits. Here, I have edited together the intros to six episodes, showing the match lighting only on the first episode and the opening credits for the sixth episode only.

These were recorded by me on VHS off television in 1992-93 and edited together on an iMac using iMovie HD. The episodes featured here are from the second and third seasons.

This is one action-packed sequence - enjoy!

I swear 1966 presented the TV audiences w/ some of the best opening television themes of all time. The 1966 - 67 season was when both the original "Star Trek", "Mission: Impossible" & "The Monkees" all started & when "Bewitched" & "I Dream Of Jeannie" both going color hit their strides & "Batman" was near the top. The only three TV themes that I enjoy a little more than those 5 would start later, "Hawaii-Five-O" in '67, "Cheers" in '82 & "The Days & Nights Of Molly Dodd" in '87.

This was only the COOLEST show on television at the time. I loved my Saturday afternoons only because M.I. was on!

Best spying-series ever, I mean these old ones. Less action, more intelligence!

Correct, the best you can imagine, with a lot of more common sense. These spies also had more control on their cases, unlike Ethan.

Great thinking there. Now I'm just wondering myself.
