Russia's metro stations have become home to a generation of street children, who survive by begging or prostitution.

At first sight, 11 year old Yuriy and his 13 year old friend Max look like normal, happy children. But after family problems forced them to leave home, they've been reduced to living on the streets. "For me, the most dangerous thing about living on the street is paedophiles," states Max. "I know a lot of people who have been abused." Despite this risk, both boys would rather remain homeless than return to their families. Max and Yuriy are just two of the millions of children thought to be living on the streets. Once homeless, many children turn to glue sniffing and become infected with HIV. The issue of street children is a relatively new problem for Russia. The collapse of communism triggered many family breakdowns, driving children as young as seven onto the streets. The fear is that if something is not done to help them now, it may be too late to save future generations.

Russian people started drinking because the country is so cold, and it developed in a way to escape from the problems. You're just too stupid and your head is too full of hateful shit. Where do you get such crazy ideas? I've heard so much nonsense about homosexuality through the years. I was once told that if you get a gay man angry, he will kill you. Someone else told me that you can identify gays by the fact that they can't whistle. I was also told that gays run on the battle field. Huh?!

And where did you get the idea that homosexuality is a lifestyle? It's no more a lifestyle than heterosexuality is.

I have no clue whether the things you said above are true or not, I don't think a gay person would run anymore than a straight man...

I don't think its right, but if you do it, it doesn't worry me.. infact I think we're getting way off topic, of the main video... other people can't read the serious comments.

Homosexulality, bisexuality, and heterosexuality are all instincts, just like blonde hair, black hair, and red hair are all natural. There is no one narrow mold that everyone fits into.

A lot of street children and teens are runaways because their parents are hostile to their homosexuality. It doesn't address the issue here, but it's a hard reality that needs to be discussed.
