The height of monopoly growth in the U.S. coincided with its greatest period of laissez-faire,or government nonintervention."The Gilded Age" between the Civil War and World WarI),this period saw the phenomenal rise of the Robber Barons and their great trusts (monopolies).John D. Rockefeller monopolized oil under his Standard Oil Company;J.P. Morgan dominated finance;Andrew Carnegie, steel;James Hill, railroads. These men lived for market conquest, and plotted takeovers like military strategy

I reject the premise that there is a Free-Market for ordinary workers in this country. What we have is a Coercive Market. In a Coercive Market the earning power of work and the standard of living of workers declines, while those with economic power gain an ever more unbalanced share of the nation's wealth. Those who preach the virtues of the free market should be the first to recognize that a coercive market is as certain to be destructive as a genuine free market is presumed to be healthy.

Do you guys really believe that having the freedom to choose from 2.500 different models of tennis shoes will make you happier, healthier, wiser or better?
All this doctrine/ideology/system couldn't be spiritually more empty.
M.F: thanks for making the poor more poor and the rich more rich in our countries.

Why do people vote for bad government programs? THEY DON'T SEE THE COSTS. The Federal Reserve is the best way to hide costs, because no one ever complains about the inflation tax. Instead everyone blames the war in Iraq for the high gasoline prices and lawyers or speculators for the rising costs of medicine and housing. Abolish the Fed and reinstitute hard currency and you will have destroyed a powerful practical means for creating poverty that people do not often identify with the government.

Greenspan is a traitor to his old ideas. He no longer believes in freedom . He went to the dark side a long time ago in a land far away.
