Gamelan music, whether Javenese or Balinese, make use of two scales, the seven-note Pelog, or the five-note Slendro, which do not directly correspond to our Western major scale at all.
It's "right" in that music-culture -- those of us outside must come to it.

Yeah, there is incerasingly music found in western culture of the same dissonance, infact it is strange as only recently has dissoance become popular in western music when it has been here the whole time.

Well, if you know anything about western culture, then you're also aware that a whole bunch of people will listen to it for 5 seconds, notice it isn't in a pentatonic scale, and classify it as "gay" because its different.

Its not like he's misinforming people; he's right about the scales and the utility of the post was just to give people a frame to understand what's going on. So, if you're already familiar with the music, the post wasn't intended for you. Calm down.
