the movie analyzes all the different personas Dylan has had over his life. The film did get lost in itself a few times, but if you read a Bob Dylan biography the characters all fit perfectly to what he lived and said throughout his life. genius.

This version is really moving, especially with the brass band, I really enjoyed the movie, particularly Cate Blanchett, but It was rather confusing, I watch the DVD, then watch the special features, finaly understood what was going on, then watch it again and enjoyed it a lot more

i think the movie was done that way to show you truly can't break someone down into a movie and have it make sense. i mean, he has all these different stage personas over his lifetime, and yet we want "cohesiveness" (sp?) i just took the film for what it was: someone's interpretation of another person that they themself can't explain, but CAN decipher timeframes of his life :)

sec walkin on evil urges is straight out of the nashville skyline journals along with many others, just realized that was ol jim. new to the band,pretty good though not the rocknroll messiahs some claim them. done with messiahs.

I watched the movie on one screen, with the Wikipedia on the other screen - so I could follow who the people and events were... it was like watching an annotated documentary. Only then it made sense...

Im a HUGE Dylan fan but I kinda agree that "I'm Not There" was unintelligable. But I still sort of liked it and I think this scene is far and away the best thing in the whole film.

most people on you tube start by replying to a comment by saying "fuck you you idiot and ect ect" but i wont . i think this movie is the best bio pic ever produced..... can you tell me why you think it was inintelligable?

I liked the renditions of the Bob Dylan tunes, but this movie lacked cohesion. It was all over the place and I got lost 1/4 of the way through. I tried to stretch my brain, and tried to figure out what it all meant. Being artsy only works if it makes SOME sense.
