Classic Ella.

This is real vocal power. This is what I judge a voice by. She's got a timbre that can never be duplicated. Best woman singer ever, in my books.

I can agree but as far as timbre I don't see her tone as that unique - I think Patsy Cline would be a better example of timbre. Of course you'll probably say they sound alike! I guess it is all in the ear...

Sound alike?! Are you a fool? Timbre is that thing that makes a voice unique. Both Ella and Patsy had unique timbres, and anyone with any musical ability could immediately tell the difference between the two. I like both.
Here's hoping your brain ceases it's out-of-body experience and returns so that you can properly use i t.

I know what timbre is you old douchebag and I stand by my comment - there is NOTHING unique about her voice. Let me guess, you yell timbre when you are out in the woods hugging trees. Alicia Keys has better timbre!

LOL! Sounds like you need to take a nap!

wonderful voice, but she lets the song survive... singers of today could take a lesson here. Many turn it into exercise and make it about them vs. the music.

I don't know if it's really a genre difference but more of an Era difference... If you want to find other singers, singers that sang these kinds of songs, Doris Day is another amazing artist:)

Love this woman. She's the inspiration for my voice. Thank you Ella!:)
