This is the latest incarnation of the HDF video. The narration has been edited to include research from a paper in Physical Review Letters (2004) which puts the size of the universe at 46.5 billion light years, not 78 billion as I originally stated.

In the video narration, I round that value up to 47 billion light years.

I also took out Numa Numa guy.

Science has a different definition for theory. Gravity and relativity are both theories as well. Are you going to go jump off a building?

The way the size of the universe is measured is by using the "doppler method" or "red shift", light moving away is in the red spectrum and light coming towards is in the blue spectrum, So it can only measure light and light only comes from stars. So what if there is a huge part of the universe with no stars.. That we wouldn't be able to see, so the VISIBLE universe is an estimated 156 billion light-years wide.

I do agree with a previous statement you made, Some scientists use the term "theory" as a saftey net, if you check out my home page i have a few videos concerning certain theories that require a very vivid imagination, for example one theorises that there are 11 dimensions not 3, This i have major trouble getting my head round!

i too keep an open mind, thats why i just say they have evidence which is proof but still cant show that it has evolved. its like if someone broke into your house and theres a thumb print, thats evidence but still they cant prove that its one of the robbers.

I'm not saying it's not a fact i'm just saying there is not 100% positive proof of it, I like to keep an open mind on these things. I agree that evolution is the most likely candidate BUT it is yet to be proven.

but there is proof to prove some species have evolved, not all. but the word theory is miss used so much.

Evolution is just a theory mate, there is no empirical evidence to prove it, Hence it being called a "theory".

well some birds like the swallow i might be wrong about that bird but one family of bird they have evidence that its beak is smaller than it was 40 million years ago and the tallons are too! and so i dont have to be the one to convince you search for species that have evidence they have evloved.
