I have never posted a comment before but I wanted to say thank you so much for your excellent video tutorial! I recently just purchased a brand new AK-47 myself and the written instructions were slightly vague. Your video made things much, much easier! :)

does anybody know if the AK 101 accepts stanag magazines?

It takes '74 type magazines, and GALIL magazines can be adapted to fit. I believe someone was making an aftermarket magazine well for them that allowed the use of AR mags, but I'm unable to find it at the moment.

Thats true. You can pull it back enough to look in the chamber while the lever is in safe position. Then again, the REAL safety keeping your finger off the trigger.
