Tough Tootsies of the Eighties No . 1

Back

PLEASE READ THIS - This the first of two clips from "Slave Girls From Beyond Infinity", a wonderful piece of tongue-in-cheek B-grade schlock directed by Ken Dixon in 1987. It starred Elizabeth Cayton as Daria; Cindy Beal as Tisa; scream queen, Brinke Stevens, as Shala; Don Scribner as Zed; and Kirk Graves as Vak.

It is debatable whether these two cream puffs actually earned the epithet "tough", but at least they are in there mixing it up with aliens, robots and demented villains. Sandhal Bergman they ain't!

I am always looking for new ideas for this series. If you have any suggestions please don't hesitate to drop me a line.

When the movie starts the 2 bakini clad chicks are escaping from a prison ship. They make fast work of 2 male guards with a chain and club. They are barefoot thus have the element of stealth and surprise. After crash landing they become guest/prisoners in a creepy guy's house. He gives them shoes but they soon remove them to snoop around his house. They find shoes constricting and are naturally barefoot travellers.

Which volumes of T.T. would you recommend as your favorite(s)?!!
pwgr2000 (November 13, 2008 at 11:57 pm)
My personal favourites are the four clips from "Pheonix" (aka "She Wolves of the Waste-land").

They are Tough Tootsies of the Eighties Nos. 9, 10, 11 and 12. No. 11 is my all-time favourite.

I would be real curious to hear other peoples' favourites and why.

More Cindy Beal, yeeha!

I'm afraid this is the only Cindy Beal film in my collection, and I have posted all of the best bits. According toIMDb show wasn't a very prolific actress and this appears to be her best work.

Wait a minute,is that one of those "so bad its good" or "guilty pleasures" deals? I've heard of these terms, but that never made sense to me(that is if that's what U meant 2 say). Because if something is bad 2 me it's not going 2 be good to me,I dont get da whole "its-so-bad-its-good". I thought if somethin stinks then it stinks;throw it away. I dont find pleasure in bad things; great example-Adam West. Thats horrible. It shud be destroyed! This movie I think is good.Hav U seen Sword+theSorcerer?

Sorry, I can't help you if you don't get the whole so-bad-it's-good thing. If you are talking about the 1966-68 "Batman" television, that is something completely different. That isn't a case of people attempting to make a high quality production and failing, hence creating unintended humour. That show is funny for the simple reason that the creators succeeded in making a pop art camp comedy. Again, if you don't get it I can't help you.

How do you feel about the work of Ed Wood Jr?
VulcanZoar (November 10, 2008 at 7:03 pm)
Well, thanx for any consideration there, but no need to apologize for any failure of assistance since I didn't really need any help. I see the movies, and I see they are good. I could say the same in apologizing that I couldn't help someone if he doesn't get it when there's a good movie. That AdamWest thing was surely attempting a high quality production, just look at the production value;it's stellar. Better than GetSmart. Yet failure it did, tho again I dont find bad pieces 2 B good, thas wierd

Oh wait, I'm sorry, I 4rgot 2 answer yer question: Ed Wood jr's work is truly unprofessional, U wonder if he cared 4 the clumsiness of it all. But looking at the overall idea, it's pretty neat. I mean, as a comic book fan, definitely 2 sci-fi fans, it certainly has alot of potential. It was a great cast, neat ass visuals, etc, but GOD the execution;you'd have to wonder if he was blind. If U tweak the whole thing, it woulda got away as a keen classic. I mean the attempt is certainly endearing.
