carolyn porco presents her work with the cassini imaging team in this stunning TEDtalks video:

two quotes from that talk:

'the journey back to saturn is really part of and is also a metaphor for a much larger human voyage to understand the interconnectedness of everything around us and also how humans fit into that picture.'

and

'there is something deeply moving about seeing ourselves from afar and capturing the sight of our little blue ocean planet through the skies of other worlds -- and that, and the perspective of ourselves that we gain from that, may be, in the end, the finest reward that we earn from this journey of discovery that started half a century ago.'

oops, it says in the description... please tell me it was't there 6 months ago. I hate when people don't check the description before asking questions.

Who cares... some follow the masses of this world... whilst others explore outside the realm of grasp of media. It's all about discovery.

Awesome! How far our species has come to be able to do something like this. It will take a lot of years before we can understand and explain all Cassini has found. Go CICLOPS!

WOW!! The best montage done so far, and i've seen a lot of planetary/satellite footage! Keep up the good work. What I'd do to stand on any one of our neighbor's moons and look at their parent planets! What a view it would be.
